Add Your First Source
Connect your first source to start receiving automated Yelp and Thumbtack Auto Responder responses. This takes about 2 minutes — you’ll link your platform account and start getting instant replies to every new inquiry.
Account Required: This guide assumes you have an NZ Leads account. Create your free account first ↗ if needed.
Access Sources Page
After logging in, navigate to the Sources page from your dashboard or you’ll be automatically directed to connect a source.

Select Platform
Choose your highest-volume lead source:
- Yelp - Connect your Yelp business profile(s)
- Thumbtack - Connect your Thumbtack pro account
Strategy: Start with your busiest lead source first for immediate impact and testing.
Authorize Connection
Click “Add Yelp” or “Add Thumbtack” to connect:
- You’ll be redirected to the platform’s website
- Log in with your existing business account
- Grant NZ Leads message access permissions
- You’ll be redirected back automatically
Your passwords are never shared — NZ Leads only receives secure API access.
Verify Connection
Confirmation page appears indicating your yelp chatbot is active and ready to respond to inquiries automatically.

Review Connected Sources
The Sources page now shows your connected source. You’ll see a green “Active” status, your business name from the platform, a platform icon, and a link to configure messaging settings.

What Happens Next
Your yelp automatic follow-ups system is live right away. New inquiries get instant responses, leads show up in your dashboard, and team notifications start based on your settings.
When your first lead comes in, you’ll see the platform it came from, the customer’s name and inquiry details, the full conversation thread, and options to message them directly.
Testing Your Setup
Have a friend send a test inquiry from the platform. Check that the response arrives quickly, reads well, and the lead shows up in your dashboard.
If something isn’t working:
- Authorization problems — try re-authenticating the connection
- Message delays — check your business hours settings
- Missing leads — make sure the source is set to Active
